Dr Uddipan Mukherjee, IOFS, qualified the UPSC Civil Services examination 2006 with an AIR 210. His outstanding career is an inspiration for many. But, it is even a greater inspiration to listen to the patience and courage that he has shown to the many challenges that he faced in his life. Despite the many hurdles in his life, he has succeeded to achieve a brilliant career with graduation in Physics Honours from Presidency College, Kolkata, M. Sc in Physics from University of Calcutta and thereafter PhD in Physics from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Dept. of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. However, he has always wanted to serve the country and that was the primary reason why in 2004 end he decided to appear for the UPSC CSE. At the very first attempt, he got AIR 210 in UPSC CSE 2006, but he had to wait till 2012 before he got his service allocation, because he had not given service preference while filling up the form. His life has always put him in front of many struggles, but he has always been patient and hardworking which have made him achieve his dreams.
