• The CEPM came into being in August 2009 “to provide technical and wider capacity building support to administrative reforms”
• CEPM was formed by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department (Training Cell), Government of West Bengal under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961
In the meeting of the Board of Governors held in December, 2013, a new objective was added by the CEPM, which was ‘To provide good quality coaching at a reasonable fee and help students intending to appear in the Civil Services Examination’
To further elaborate, the goal of CEPM was to create awareness and academic interest among students in general and students belonging to weaker section, in particular about Civil Services Examination and to focus on the students belonging to SC, ST, Backward Classes and Minority Communities for creating awareness among them to appear in Civil Services Examination.
Subsequently, The CSSC was inaugurated in January, 2014 by the Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal and further rechristened Satyendra Nath Tagore Civil Services Study Centre (SNTCSSC) in May, 2021.
