The Satyendra Nath Tagore Civil Services Study Centre (SNTCSSC) is an initiative launched at the behest of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal Mamata Banerjee to provide best quality and highly subsidised coaching for UPSC Civil Services Examination to the young students from West Bengal aspiring to become members of IAS, IPS, IFS and other allied services. The centre was remodelled and named after the first Indian to become ICS, Shri Satyendranath Tagore, in May, 2021 to give a greater impetus to its objective and is poised to take fresh strides with newer schemes.
The centre holds the vision to inspire young and bright students from West Bengal to aim for the Civil Services as their career option so that more young aspirants can succeed in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. We aspire to identify bright aspirants with the right attitude and aptitude from all over West Bengal and inspire them and provide them proper guidance to make it to the Civil Services. Our objective is to also reach the young people from all segments of the society especially the underprivileged, with poor economic background and also people residing in rural and remote areas with limited or almost no access to quality coaching or guidance apart from those living in urban and semi-urban areas. There are many such students in our state who are hardworking and intelligent and possess the will and determination to achieve the best but have no resources to pursue their dreams. SNTCSSC aims to reach out to these young boys and girls and provide them the best possible guidance and motivate them to think big and become successful in UPSC CSE.
We at SNTCSSC believe that the youth of Bengal possess immense potential to excel in their careers given the opportunity. So this Centre was formed to nurture and assist young boys and girls of West Bengal to help them fulfil their dreams to become IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc. officers. We also encourage the students to write the exam in their vernacular so that language does not become a barrier to their success.
Our Centre provides state of the art infrastructure with smart classrooms, a well-equipped library, and hostel facility for outstation students on selective basis. Quality coaching is provided through subject experts from renowned universities and colleges and also by IAS, IPS and other all India services officers. Regular tests are taken to assess the students’ progress and identify the areas that need special attention so that they can improve in a sustained manner. We are putting our best efforts to make this initiative by the Government of West Bengal reach aspirants across the State for producing greater numbers of All India Services Officers from this State.
